Cook-N-Dine: Experience Japanese Hibachi Teppanyaki at Home

Imagine cooking hibachi style on a Japanese teppanyaki flat-top grill in the comfort of your own home! You can with Cook-n-Dine. This unit can be built in or used as a portable, free standing unit. Integrate it anywhere — your countertop, kitchen table, coffee table, or your backyard outdoor kitchen.

Teppanyaki is a style of Japanese cuisine that cooks on an iron griddle. The first part of the word “Teppan” means metal plate in Japanese, and “Yaki” means grilling. In the United States this is often known as hibachi in Japanese steakhouses. At a teppanyaki grill, the guests are seated around a large, flat grilling surface. They watch as the chef cooks the food and sometimes performs culinary tricks to add to the entertainment value of the dining experience.

This innovative product offers a new way to cook hibachi style and enjoy a creative dining experience. The unit is made in Germany with an electric smooth top hotplate and patented “Shallow Dip” technology by CDS-Design so the edges always stay cool. There are many integration options and sizes to choose from depending on where you want to use the unit. You can place it inside the home or outside in backyard kitchens, patios, balconies or terraces.

How the Technology Works

1- Cooking Center
This area temporarily dips down slightly when the unit is on to form a concave cooking pit (thermal expansion towards the heat source underneath), which preserve the food juices.
2- Warming Area
The warming area is approximately 50% lower than the set cooking temperature. A ring of approximately 3-4 inches width surrounds the cooking center at all four sides (on the round models: 360 degrees)
3- Dining Area
This area stays cool at the edge on the table only model. On Built-in models, the remaining space toward the edge of the table surface would be your counter top space. Edges of built-in touching counter top are max. 50 degrees Celsius. The 1800 watt cooking top heating element offers perfect cooking results on 120V. It can quickly sear steaks, grill fish, or roast vegetables.
